310 Tyson Drive, Winchester Warehouse

InterChange has added a new facility to it’s portfolio with the purchase of a 244,500 ft2 warehouse in Winchester, VA. InterChange closed on the 15-acre site in late February and is looking to either lease or occupy the facility themselves. One tenant currently leases 60,000 ft2 as a training facility. Two InterChange employees are stationed at the warehouse for inbound and outbound loads used in InterChange’s 3PL (Third Party Logistics) services.

This Winchester warehouse has been on the market for about 8 years and was purchased from the National Wildlife Federation, who used the space for catalog printing and as a call center. InterChange had been leasing part of the facility before the purchase, and utilized the space in their 3PL operations. Purchasing this facility increases InterChange’s footprint in the Shenandoah Valley and along the I-81 corridor, extending their reach further into the Northeast and giving InterChange a better ability to service the Winchester market. The Winchester Star wrote a nice article about the acquisition and the possibilities that it opens up for InterChange. That article can be found here (paywall).

InterChange is planning on making improvements to the facility to make it more attractive to possible tenants, including refurbishing the offices and improving the exterior. A similar, albeit more intensive, renovation was recently completed at the old Invista Stone Fort facility in Lyndhurst, which was purchased by InterChange in October of 2014.
